The Historic Old Milano Hotel site that was a community fixture until 2001, when the main hotel burned down. Originally constructed in 1905 by Bert Luchinetti, an Italian immigrant from Milan, he named the hotel the Old Milano after his homeland. The Gualala railroad passed in front of the hotel, making it a social hub for the community.
